Will a Snowblower Fit? Measure the Route First

Record clear widths at gates, steps, parked vehicles and corners. Measure the space available when the gate is open, not just its frame. Ask the operator for the working clearance their machine needs. Storage sheds and loading access also matter if equipment will remain at the property.
Identify gravel, loose objects, mats and raised edges before snowfall hides them. Show the operator any surface that needs special care. A blower’s suitability depends on the machine and its instructions as well as the route. Keep people away from the discharge area and leave operation to someone who understands the equipment.
Consider windows, vehicles, neighbouring paths and the prevailing wind. The snow has to land somewhere suitable without being put back onto a cleared area. Tight courtyards may require a different approach even when the machine physically fits. Mark a safe storage zone on the same plan.
Some entrances will still need hand work. Ask which sections are included and what happens when snow is too wet, deep or compacted for the planned approach. Keep the provider’s decision process clear. The equipment guide explains why mixed routes often need more than one tool.
